Delhi: First batch of e-cycle models entitled to govt subsidy gets approval

In yet another push towards promoting electric mobility in the national capital, Delhi government has approved the first batch of electric cycle models that will be eligible for a subsidy of Rs 5,500, under its ambitious electric vehicle (EV) policy. TOIwas the first to report earlier this year that the AAP government plans to add electric cycles under the EV policy’s ambit to provide subsidies and become the first state in the country to do so.

Delhi: Cluster buses killed 76 people in 3 years

Last week’s accident involving an unruly cluster bus driver, who rammed into seven vehicles in North East district’s Shastri Park and left at least nine people severely injured, has put the spotlight back on the menace involving these buses in the city.In the last three years, at least 76 people have died and over 100 injured in accidents involving cluster buses. Last year, 25 people were killed in 22 accidents involving these buses, data shows.
