Rajkot: It was a happy moment for all students who had secured good marks in the 12th commerce the results of which were announced on Saturday. But for
Smit Changela, it was a very special day. The student who came to his school in a wheelchair had got 99.97 percentile and in two papers he got full marks. He had taken the exam with the support of a writer.
Changela has been suffering from neuropathy since he was just three months old and his hands and legs do not work properly. But he is not shaken by his physical condition.
“I want to become an
IAS officer and now I will start preparing for the civil services exam. I want to serve my country and I also want to give more opportunities to differently abled persons like me,” he says.
Changela scored 100 out of 100 marks in statistics and economics papers, and in accountancy he scored 99 out of 100. During the lockdown, when other teenagers got habituated to online games and movies, Changela started an online business using his phone. He is not able to operate a mobile phone using his fingers but he uses his nose to operate the phone. Even in this condition, he started an online business of selling garments and started earning Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 a month.
His father owns a ceramic factory in Morbi and he does not need to earn to support his studies, but he wanted to show that he could do something.
