State to impose more tax on polluting units

Noida: UP Traders Welfare Board, a government body, has decided to impose additional tax on industrial units causing excessive air pollution. The decision was taken at a meeting with businessmen from GB Nagar chaired by Manish Gupta, the board vice president.
During the meet, the board also announced helpline numbers for resolving weapons licence-related issues of businessmen and decided that the UP Police “will not unnecessarily cause harassment of traders during checking of goods in transit”, for which the DGP was sent a communication. To motivate disabled people to start a business, Rs 10,000 will be given as interest-free loan. For supporting education of children of small business owners and daily wagers upto Rs 22,000 will be given by the board. TNN
