GSEB result 2022: 86.91% cleared HSC General stream examination

Of the 3.35 lakh students who appeared for the HSC (general stream) exam, 2.91 lakh students successfully passed the examination. Interestingly, this year 16,000 fewer students appeared for the examination.

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GSEB) general stream results were declared on Saturday. The total pass percentage remained 86.91%, with 87.23% of students were from Gujarati medium while 86.85% were from English medium. In 2018 the passing percentage was 68.97%.
Of the 3.35 lakh students who appeared for the HSC (general stream) exam, 2.91 lakh students successfully passed the examination. Interestingly, this year 16,000 fewer students appeared for the examination.

According to the education department, while Subir Chapi in Alarsa posted the highest 100% pass out percentage, Dabhoi had the lowest result of 56.43%. Among the district this year, Dang had the highest pass out percentage with 95.41% while Vadodara had the lowest pass out percentage with 76.49%.

Girls once again outshined boys, among those who attempted the HSC for the first time. The pass rate of girls was 89.23%, while that of boys was 84.67%. This year about 4.5% more girls cleared the examinations.

Interestingly, this year 2,091 students have scored over 90% marks. The officials stated that the even number of students who scored over 80% but less than 90% was 25,215.

According to the statistics provided, 23,575 students failed in one subject this year, while 11,577 failed to clear their exams in two subjects, and another 4,967 failed in three subjects.
