After intently watching his performance for close to seven years, the BJP finally granted Hardik Patel entry into its fold on Thursday, albeit pouring some chilled water on his aspirations for a grand entry.
Unlike his entry into the Congress a little more than three years back, when he was welcomed by the then party national president Rahul Gandhi during a mega show of strength, no national leader of the BJP attended his induction to the saffron party.
Patel was later accompanied by BJP Gujarat media cell coordinator Yagnesh Dave for a brief media interaction where he stated that he had disassociated himself from the Patidar quota agitation since 2019 and refrained from talking about the strong statements he had made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah during the days of his agitation.
