Godda cops arrest 7 for raping minor

Dumka: Godda police on Wednesday arrested seven accused out of the 11 allegedly involved in the gang rape of a 17-year-old girl from a tribal community and uploading the video on social media.
The incident took place on Monday evening when the victim was forcibly taken to an abandoned place by the culprits, who took turns to rape her while she was on her way back home from a local haat. The mother of the victim lodged an FIR on Tuesday.
Police team led by sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Anand Mohan Singh and officers in-charge of four police stations launched raids to arrest the seven accused.
Godda SPNathu Singh Meena said, “Attempts are on to nab the remaining four accused.” All the seven have been booked under the Pocso Act.
