Delhi High Court gets judge and additional Judge

The government Wednesday appointed one Judge and an additional Judge to the Delhi High Court. Advocate Anish Dayal was appointed as Judge while Advocate Amit Sharma was appointed as additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.

Anish Dayal was designated as a Senior Advocate in 2021 and practised primarily at the Supreme Court and the High Court of Delhi. He had his own civil, commercial and corporate litigation and arbitration practice for over 26 years. He had enrolled as an advocate with the Delhi Bar Council in 1995.

He authored the Section on Damages for Halsbury's Laws of India and Legal and Regulatory Section of The Indian Media Business and wrote periodically on legal issues for various publications.

Amit Sharma enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1995. He served as Additional prosecutor for NCT of Delhi before Delhi High Court from 2007-2010. He also served as special public prosecutor for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2010 before he was appointed as a senior advocate in March 2021.

As special public prosecutor Sharma handed prosecution relating to national security including Delhi High Court Blast, Abu Jundal( alleged handler of Pakistan terrorist Ajmal Kasab) and cases related to ISIS.
