MARGAO: On the occasion of World No-Tobacco Day observed on May 31, Goacan has called for every Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL)-managed bus stand in Goa to be declared as a ‘
no-tobacco zone’.
In a letter to KTCL managing director Derrick Pereira Neto, Goacan has stated that by declaring their bus stands as no-tobacco zones, “KTC will fulfill its social responsibility of protecting passengers, drivers, conductors and other staff from harm caused by tobacco to health and the environment.”
Goacan has proposed that within a period of one month i.e. by June 30, KTCL must ensure that no tobacco products are consumed or sold within the jurisdiction of all its bus stands in Goa.
