Gurgaon: Mayor
Madhu Azad on Wednesday visited the accounts and engineering departments and directed officials to clear the files of development works in a time-bound manner. Azad also got the contractors’ office reopened, weeks after it was locked by the
MCG staff following an ugly spat between the chief engineer and a councillor.
The mayor first went to the accounts department on the second floor, where chief accounts officer
Vijay Singla apprised her of the working of the department and made her interact with the employees. She also said that all employees of the civic body should work in coordination so that public services remain unaffected.
She then visited the engineering department, which is adjacent to the accounts department on the second floor of the Sector 34 office. She told the engineering staff that the files should not be kept pending.
“I told the senior officials of the accounts and engineering department to monitor the work of their subordinates so that people don’t suffer,” said Azad.
