COIMBATORE: Weekly
grievance meetings will be conducted to receive complaints and to stay connected with the residents, said
M Prathap, who assumed office as the
commissioner of the
Coimbatore Corporation on Thursday.
Raja Gopal Sunkara, former commissioner, who has been transferred as executive director of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board, handed over charges to Prathap in the commissioner's chamber located in the main building of the corporation.
Prathap said he would conduct field visits to know the issues pertaining to the corporation and expedite works to improve basic amenities.
He said that he would consult with mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, municipal administration minister K N Nehru and electricity minister V Senthil Balaji and carry out developmental works.
Prathap said, "Residents can raise their complaints. Action would be taken in an expeditious manner. My predecessor has done good work to improve administration and basic amenities. They will be followed."
