JAKARTA : Indonesian plantation workers were barred from travelling to Malaysia because the recruiters did not follow proper procedures and some of the workers do not have the proper work visa, Benny Rhamdani, head of the migrant worker protection agency, said.

The agency, known as BP2MI, had coordinated with Indonesia's Labour Ministry and the ministry has asked BP2MI to conduct pre-departure orientation despite the visa issue, he told media on Thursday.
