MUMBAI: Dismissed cop Sachin
Waze was allowed to turn approver in the corruption case involving ex-NCP minister Anil
Deshmukh and awarded “grant of pardon” by the special
CBI court on Wednesday, reports Rebecca Samervel
It imposed certain conditions on Waze. “Applicant (Waze) shall make full and true disclosure on the whole circumstances related to the offence. Applicant should disclose all facts already admitted before magistrate… truthfully and correctly answer questions put by the special public prosecutor,” said special judge
DP Shingade. Waze, appearing by video conferencing from Taloja jail where he has been lodged since March 2021, accepted the conditions.
This is the second case where Waze sought to turn approver. He has made a similar plea on the ED’s probe in a money laundering case against Deshmukh, others and him.
