External affairs minister to visit Slovakia, Czech Republic amid Ukraine war

NEW DELHI: Foreign minister S Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Slovakia and the Czech Republic from June 2-6 June, the government announced on Wednesday. The visit to Europe will take place in the middle of Russia’s war with Ukraine that has led to some strife in India’s ties with Europe as the government remains reluctant to condemn Russia’s actions.
During his visit to Bratislava from June 2-4 June, he Jaishankar will call on Eduard Heger, PM of Slovakia, and will hold bilateral discussions with his counterpart Ivan Korcok.
“He will also attend the GLOBSEC 2022 Forum and speak on the topic ‘Taking Friendship to the Next Level: Allies in the Indo-Pacific Region’,” said the government. During his visit to the Czech Republic from jUNE 4-6, EAM will hold discussions with Jan Lipavský, minister of foreign affairs of the Czech Republic.
