Dharwad Mayor Iresh Anchatageri has directed officials of
Water Board and L&T to ensure regular supply of drinking water to all wards in the twin cities. Chairing a meeting of officials from
HDMC, Water Board, L&T and
KUIDFC here on Monday, he said there have been complaints from citizens and elected representatives that some wards are not getting water regularly.
The mayor told the officials to identify borewells that have gone defunct and take steps to repair them within a week. Complaints registered regarding water supply should be attended in 24 hours, he said. The corporators present at the meeting charged that officials were unresponsive to their phone calls.
The mayor instructed L&T, which has been given the task of supplying drinking water in the twin cities, to make a presentation on the steps taken by them for managing the drinking water supply to all the 82 wards and elicit information from the general public on their demands.
