Trader booked for allowing minor son to drive car

Ludhiana: The police, on Monday, booked a resident of Upkar Nagar for allowing his minor son to drive a car.
Ladhowal police station assistant sub-inspector Bikramjit Singh said, “We had established a checkpoint at Ladhowal bypass on Monday afternoon. A car was stopped and its driver was asked to show his driving licence. As he did not have one, his identity proofs were checked and he was found to be 17-year-old. The boy said his parents had allowed him to drive the car.”
Thereafter, his father, a garment trader, was called to the police station and an FIR was lodged against him for allowing the minor to drive the car, which has been impounded, he added.
A case under Section 5 of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered.
