Noida: Cops probe death of US woman who landed 2 weeks ago

NOIDA: A 50-year-old woman from the US was declared dead on arrival at a city hospital on Tuesday morning. Police have sent the body for postmortem examination to know the exact cause of death.
According to police, Michelle Rae, a US citizen, lived in Sector 26, Noida, with her husband. According to the husband’s statement to the police, the couple went to bed on Monday night after dinner, but his wife did not wake up on Tuesday morning.
At 7.45am on Tuesday, police received information about her death from Kailash Hospital in Sector 27. VB Joshi, a hospital spokesperson, said she was brought to the hospital around 7.40am on Tuesday. “As soon as she came to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival by the doctors. We immediately informed the Noida police about her for further legal proceedings,” Joshi said.
A police team rushed to the hospital. “We found out that the husband, William Thomas, brought her to Kailash Hospital for treatment. However, she was declared dead on arrival,” the additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida, Ranvijay Singh, said. He added police sent the body for a postmortem. Thomas has been working in a private firm, Thermosystem Pvt Ltd, in Sector 15, Noida, since September 2021. “The woman moved here just two weeks ago,” Singh said.
The two lived at Swastik Hotel in Sector 26. Police said they have initiated legal proceedings.
