LUDHIANA: A conductor of a PRTC bus was robbed at a gunpoint at Ladhowal toll plaza on Ludhiana- Amritsar national highway on Wednesday morning.
The bus conductor had alighted from the bus to pick some passengers, when three robbers came on bike and scooter.
The robbers first asked the conductor to hand over the bag of cash. However, when he refused, one of the robbers brandished a gun and pointed at him. Thereafter, they snatched the bag filled with cash and escaped.
Some onlookers stated that the robbers wanted to rob bus passengers, however, they raised an alarm.
Inspector Jasveer Singh, SHO Ladhowal police station said that the accused robbed the bag which was containing approximately Rs 20,000 cash.
The accused have escaped towards Jalandhar and the police are scanning CCTVs installed at the toll plaza.
