Tikait on Monday, members of
Bharatiya Krishik Samaj and other farmers’ outfits submitted a memorandum to the
Belagavi deputy commissioner demanding action against those involved in the incident.
The protesters gathered in front of the DC’s office, raising slogans against the miscreants involved in the incident, and demanded action.
Interacting with representatives of the media after submitting the memorandum, national president of Bharatiya Krishik Samaj, Sidugouda Modagi alleged the involvement of the BJP in the incident. “Tikait led the agitation against the three farm laws on the borders of New Delhi. For nearly a year, he led the agitation demanding the repeal the laws, and Prime Minister
Narendra Modi had to relent finally. Upset with Tikait, goons from the BJP attacked him in Bengaluru,” said Modagi, adding that the attack on Tikait was an assault on the entire farming community.
