Forum upset over guv’s NEP remarks

Coimbatore: Governor R N Ravi should clarify whether he is appointed as an ambassador for the Centre’s national education policy 2020 or as the constitutional head of the state to discharge the duties assigned by the Constitution of India, said P B Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary of the state platform for common school system - Tamil Nadu.
The forum, in a press release on Tuesday, expressed its displeasure at the governor’s remarks on NEP at the Tamil Nadu Open University convocation held on Monday. At the event, the governor asked people to the read the policy before opposing it and said its worth was not appreciated as it was not read properly. Prince said the Raj Bhavan is yet to reply for his RTI query dated on March 9 about a bill in the assembly. “The Raj Bhavan’s silence is not only a violation of RTI Act but a demonstration of disregard for all laws.” tnn
