Ludhiana: Factory employee shot at, robbed of Rs 3 lakh

LUDHIANA: Three unidentified robbers shot at the employee of the famous Eastman company, in Focal Point and robbed him of Rs 3 Lakh in cash on Wednesday evening at around 4.45pm.
The victim was returning to the factory after withdrawing cash from a private bank in Phase-IV of Focal Point.
The injured man has been identified as Ajay Kumar, 28 who suffered a bullet injury in his back. The police stated that even in the injured condition the victim tried to chase the accused however failed.
Additional deputy commissioner of police Tushar Gupta said, “Ajay works for Eastman company and he had gone to a bank from where he withdrew Rs 3 Lakh cash from the company's account. He was returning to the factory on a bike when three robbers on two bikes intercepted his way and tried to snatch the cash. However Ajay fought back after which the accused shot at him and escaped after robbing him of RS 3 lakh. Even with one bullet injury in his back, Ajay chased the accused for a while. However the accused fled away.”
Thereafter Ajay was rushed to a private hospital and further the police were informed. The police are scanning the CCTVs installed in the area.
ADCP Gupta stated that the victim's condition is stable however he is unfit to give a statement. An FIR is being lodged by Focal Point police.
