Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:34AM

Aro Granite Industries(up 3.39%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 2.83%), Dvpt Corporation(up 1.68%), Coal India(up 1.40%), MOIL(up 1.24%), KIOCL(up 1.04%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.01%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.95%), 20 Microns(up 0.44%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.10%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 1.48%) and Pokarna(down 1.25%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 23.8 points up at 16608.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 98.03 points at 55664.44 at around 10:34AM.

JSW Steel(up 3.14%), NTPC(up 2.28%), Asian Paints(up 1.8%), Tata Steel(up 1.53%), Coal India(up 1.4%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.11%), ITC(up 0.81%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.76%) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.73%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 2.31%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.71%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.25%), Britannia Industries(down 1.2%), Nestle India(down 0.94%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.94%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.94%), Enterprises(down 0.88%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.87%) and Shree Cement(down 0.84%) were trading in the red.
