15,000 residents here, but not a single park in Sports City in Noida

Residents say the mafia is illegally extracting soil from these vacant land
NOIDA: With not a single park for the 15,000-plus residents living in different housing societies of Sports City in Sector 79, the families say that their children are forced to play on the road and the elderly have no other option but to take walks along the streets.
Their repeated requests to the Noida Authority for parks and green belts as per the master plan, according to the residents, have fallen on deaf ears.
Sanwarjeet Singh, a resident of Sector 79, said, “The Sports City buyers have been requesting the Noida Authority for building green belts and parks for the past one year. There are many greenbelts and parks proposed in the master plan of sectors 79 and 80 but most of them still remain barren land. The mafia is illegally extracting soil from these vacant land. A park in this sector is a must.” Residents said that their sector has been completely ignored by the Authority.
“There are many issues in our sector which need immediate action. One is the requirement for a park that the Noida Authority has put in their master plan but has not worked upon it,” said another resident, Sharad Kumar Singh. “Apart from this, the central verge on the Sector 79 main road has still not been developed.”
When contacted, Indu Prakash Singh, Noida Authority's OSD, told TOI, “Land has already been allotted for the development of a park. We will visit the site tomorrow.”
Around 15,000 residents live in different societies like Urbtech Hilston, Gaur Sportswood, Civitech Stadia and Mahagun Mirabella in Sports City.
