`Miyazaki’: World’s costliest mango sells at Rs 2.5 lakh

Bhubaneswar: A farmer of Odisha’s Bargarh district has successfully grown `Miyazaki Mango’ which is sold between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs three lakh per kilo in the market

Chandru Satya Narayan (50) of Nilathar village in Bargarh experimented with this mango.

This variety is sold for Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh per kg.

Around three years back, Satyanarayan learned about this mango from his friend and planted saplings after importing it from Bangladesh.

The ruby-hued mango got its name from southern Japan’s Miyazaki Prefecture, where it was originally grown.
