Coimbatore: A 57-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment on Monday for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl in 2020.

Vellalore.
Ravichandran was arrested for sexually assaulting the girl in 2020 and booked under sections 376 AB of the Indian Penal Code and sections 5 (m), (n) and (l) read with the 6 of the Pocso act. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
In another case, the special court for Pocso cases on Monday sentenced a wall painter to three years of rigorous imprisonment on Monday for attempting to sodomize a class VII student in 2019.
Jagadeesh, 47, a wall painter, from KG Chavadi, was arrested for attempting to sodomize a boy near his school premises in 2019. The boy revealed the incident to his parents who lodged a complaint with the KG Chavadi police, who registered a case and arrested Jagadeesh. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Jagadeesh.
