Realtor succumbs to bullet injury

Ludhiana: Four days after, realtor Malkit Singh, 50, of Bonkar Dogra village of Koomkalan, who had suffered a bullet injury, succumbed to injuries at a private hospital on Monday. Accused Sunil Kumar Dogra, also a realtor, of Sector 32 Chandigarh Road, has been arrested.
Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, station house officer (SHO) Division no 7 police station, said Malkit Singh, a former sarpanch, along with his brother Jang Singh had gone to Sunil’s house for collecting payment of a property deal. Sunil was showing his licenced weapon, which accidentally got triggered, as per his claim.
He added that the bullet had hit Malkit under his eye and got stuck in the skull. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died. Inspector added that earlier a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and Arms Act was lodged against the accused. The police added section 302 of IPC in the FIR after the death of the victim.
