social media training camp concluded on Sunday with speakers like Alka Lamba addressing the gathering. Well-known
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera too addressed party members at the Nav Sankalp Social Media Shivir through virtual mode.
The focus of the camp was to enhance the organization’s social media capabilities and also to tackle the rapid spread of fake news.
Addressing the camp participants, Khera said, “Our social media team is well equipped to take on those who try to create friction between communities.”
Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole said, “We must have a social media war room in every district to expand the party’s reach.”
Cabinet minister Yashomati Thakur remarked that social media is not a place for public speeches, but “a place to forget internal differences and unite for a cause”.
Lamba said that everyone should be ready to even go prison in the “fight for truth”.
Congress national social media unit chairman Rohan Gupta said, “Congress is ready to fight the war against hatred and tear down the fake propaganda placed by BJP. Social media warriors have given the clarion call from Nagpur to fight the hate ideology of BJP-RSS.”
Vishal Muttemwar, president of the social media unit of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, said that the camp witnessed participation from across the country. “We had members coming in from all four corners of the country and sharing their experiences. We are thankful to senior leaders of our party who provided guidance and encouragement to party members,” said Muttemwar.
Young Congress members who came from different states shared their excitement over the event on social media. SK Muzadpuria tweeted, “The enthusiasm which has awakened in the youth after listening to their (seniors’) speech will work in the upcoming elections.”
