ED’s intent in J’khand questionable: Hemant

Ranchi: The ED may be probing the alleged scam in MGNREGA funds in Khunti and Chatra but it has its sights set on political targets, CM Hemant Soren claimed on Sunday.
“They have entered Jharkhand through MGREGA but they have their sights set on something else. It has been almost 25 days since they began their investigation but the ED has still not made their findings public. Even though they are investigating the scam in Khunti and Chatra, they have not visited the districts yet,” Soren claimed while interacting with journalists in New Delhi on Sunday afternoon.
“We do not have any problems with the ED’s investigation but their activities indicate that there is more to than what meets the eye,” he added.
Hemant also likened himself to Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan. “Just the other day, I read that Shahrukh’s son was given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau. The way events are unfolding in Jharkhand with the ED, things are headed in the same direction,” he claimed.
Meanwhile, Hemant, who met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss candidates from Jharkhand for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls, said the talks were fruitful. “The name of the candidate will be announced after Sonia-Ji’s message is delivered to JMM president Shibu Soren,” he said.
