PM Modi to address 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' at Ridge Shimla on May 31

SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Shimla on Tuesday to participate in the 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' being organized in state capitals, district headquarters and Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country to commemorate the completion of eight years of the union government.
Chief Minister of all the states will be virtually connected with this program. For 30 minutes, Modi will interact with the beneficiaries of 16 centrally sponsored welfare schemes of the Centre. He will also release the 11th installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi of Rs 21000 crore.
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, while interacting with media persons in Shimla on Monday, said that the last years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been most impressive years in the history as country has got new identity. He said that country has move forward at the international level with new identity and honour.
He said that the Covid pandemic was the biggest challenge in history for any government and under the Modi’s leadership the country continued to march ahead even during the pandemic period. He said that on Tuesday around 17 lakh people across country will be connected virtually with the program being held at the Ridge Maidan of Shimla.
He said that for initial 30 minutes, the Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries of 16 government welfare schemes and after that he will address the public from the Ridge. He said that Modi will again visit the state on June 16-17 for the chief secretaries conference scheduled to be held in Dharamshala.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister had a special bond with Himachal Pradesh and it is under his leadership that Himachal Pradesh has got several big projects and has seen the faster completion of projects. He said that Himachal Pradesh has got AIIMS at Bilaspur and has seen the completion of work of Atal tunnel Rohtang. He said that Rs 2100 ADB-funded tourism project was also approved for the state.
He said that from CTO to Rani Jhansi Park, Modi will hold a roadshow during which he would be welcomed by the people. He said that union minister Anurag Thakur would also be coming with the Prime Minister.
