NEW DELHI: From a recent low of Rs 240.90 lakh crore on May 12, the BSE market capitalisation has jumped over Rs 17,00,000 crore to Rs 257.99 lakh crore in a matter of 12 trading days, thanks to recovery in stocks on improved global sentiment, and listing of a couple of companies, including the mega IPO LIC.

In terms of market capitalisation, 20 BSE500 stocks have seen at least a Rs 10,000 crore jump in their market values, amounting to an m-cap addition of nearly Rs 6.75 lakh crore.

India's most valued stock has added Rs 1.67 lakh crore to its m-cap to Rs 17.91 lakh crore (Monday's intraday levels) from Rs 16.24 lakh crore as of May 12.

HDFC Bank has seen its m-cap surge Rs 57,289 crore to Rs 7.80 lakh crore from Rs 7.23 lakh crore. (up Rs 48,000 crore), HDFC (Rs 41,921 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 37055 crore), Adani Power (Rs 34,850 crore), (Rs 31,785 crore) and (up Rs 31,291 crore) also contributed positively to BSE market capitalisation.

Others included , , Tata Motors, ITC and saw their m-cap rise by Rs 15,000-30,000 crore.

Over five lakh crore of jump in the BSE m-cap, meanwhile, can be attributed to debutant LIC, which got listed on May 17 and commanded a m-cap of Rs 5,28,137.31 crore as of Monday. LIC is the sixth most valued stock on the Street.

Prudent Corporate Advisory Services, Delhivery, Ethos and Venus Pipes were some other firms that got listed in the period and added Rs 43,000 crore to BSE m-cap, as of prevailing prices.

In percentage terms, BSE500 constituent Adani Power has jumped 35 per cent, followed by and , which have surged 28 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively.

Strides Pharma Science, , Tata Elxsi, , , and KSB remained some other stocks, rallying over 20 per cent in the recent market recovery.
