When it comes to capturing Australia's legacy in Computing Graeme Philipson's work is unparalleled.
Graeme wrote 'A Vision Splendid: The History of Australian Computing', he also narrated corporate histories of Fujitsu ANZ and the leading Australian software company TechnologyOne.
Graeme was a great observer of Australia's IT industry, having edited several key IT magazines, and as regular contributor of opinion pieces for The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The Age.
Beyond his work as historian, Graeme was the inaugural president of the Australian Computer Museum Society (ACMS) and recipient of the Kester lifetime achievement award for contributions to IT journalism and the Pioneer of IT Media Award.
On June 3, the ACMS celebrates Graeme's legacy by opening the Graeme Philipson History of Computing Library.
The specialised collection in the Graeme Philipson Library brings together key resources on the history of computing in Australia including work by John Dean, Trevor Pearcey, John Bennett and others.
It offers a focal point to ongoing research into Australia's achievements in Computing.
