7 new Covid cases including 4 from Nagpur

NAGPUR: The region recorded seven new cases, including four from Nagpur and one each from Bhandara, Chandrapur and Yavatmal, on Sunday.
Nagpur reported four cases from over 400 tests while Chandrapur recorded the lone case from more than 270 tests in a day. Though new Omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5 have now been reported in the state, Vidarbha region is yet to see any impact of the development. The active case tally increased to 47.
Active cases are from Nagpur (20), Bhandara (2), Wardha (1), Chandrapur (10), Gadchiroli (5), Akola (2), Amravati (2), Yavatamal (1) and Washim (4). The rest of the districts remained Covid free. The number of districts having any active case has increased to 8 after decreasing to 6 a few weeks ago.
Over 3,600 tests were done in the region. The recovery rate has improved to 98.35%.
