Retd ST busconductor murdered, robbed

Rajkot: A retired conductor of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) was murdered and robbed near Babra town of Amreli district late on Thursday night.
The victim, Bhikhu Ahir (61), who was going on a bike, was intercepted by an unidentified person, on the road leading to his native Charkha village near Babra.
The assailant smashed Ahir's head with some blunt object and robbed Rs 2,000 cash and a mobile phone worth Rs 3,000 from his pocket, said JM Kela, sub-inspector, Babra police station.
Late in the night, some villager saw his body and informed police who contacted his son Pratik on finding an identity card from the victim’s pocket.
