Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a multi-specialty hospital at
Aatkot village under
Jasdan taluka of Rajkot district and address a huge gathering there on Saturday. The organisers of the event claim that at least three lakh people will attend it and will listen to
PM Modi’s address.
Aatkot village falls under Jasdan assembly constituency. The hospital, built by
BJP leader Bharat Boghra, will be managed by
Patel Samaj.
Talking to mediapersons on Thursday, Boghra said: “Chief minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat unit BJP president C R Paatil, ministers from Gujarat government and Union government, BJP workers from Gujarat, members of Patidar community and leaders of 35 other communities will attend the function.”
He added, “We expect three lakh people to attend this function and for that we have created a huge dome with 42 screens and set up 1,200 food counters for lunch.”
Boghra is a vice-president of the state unit BJP. He lost the last two elections from Jasdan as a BJP candidate. Jasdan assembly constituency remained a Congress stronghold until Kunvraji Bavaliya switched to BJP in 2018, when he won a by-election on a BJP ticket.
According to sources, Boghra is a ticket aspirant for the third time and he eyes either Jasdan or Rajkot East. Kolis form the highest chunk of voters in Jasdan assembly constituency. Modi had addressed an election rally in this constituency before the 2017 assembly election but BJP did not win from there.
