Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who was arrested in connection with the Mumbai cruise drugs case in October last year, was given a clean chit by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on May 27. The probe agency indicated that it wasn't able to gather sufficient evidence against Aryan. And so, Aryan has not been named in the chargesheet filed by the agency.
Sources in NCB’s second investigation team that is filing the chargesheet spoke to India Today TV about why the agency dropped charges against Aryan Khan.
- No evidence was found during investigation that Aryan Khan was part of a drugs conspiracy in the cruise party.
- The NCB also did not find any link of Aryan Khan to any international drugs trafficking syndicate.
- The NCB SIT probing the case found that several irregularities were committed during the raid on the Cordelia cruise during which Aryan Khan was arrested.
- Aryan Khan was not in possession of any drugs.
- The SIT has indicated that there was no need to take Aryan’s phone during the raids as was done by the first probe team.
- The drugs recovered from multiple accused in the case were shown as single recovery which was not accordance to NDPS manual.
