4-year-old boy dies as truck hits car near Madukkarai

Coimbatore: A four-year-old boy was killed after a truck hit the car that he was travelling in near Madukkarai on Thursday.
The Madukkarai police identified the deceased as Yuvan, of Balaji Garden at Press Colony. A police officer said the incident took place when he was returning home, along with his grandfather Selvaraj, 65, from Malampuzha in Kerala.
“Selvaraj took his grandsons Nithin, 12, Calvin, 8 and Yuvan to the Malampuzha Dam in Kerala on Thursday morning. When they neared Madukkarai around 4pm on their way back home, the truck hit the car from behind. The car then hit a truck in its front. All the four passengers in the car were injured in the incident and they were rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared Yuvan brought dead,” the officer said. The Madukkarai police have registered a case.
