All 26 individuals have been evacuated and taken to 403 Field Hospital at Partapur for the treatment. Dedicated efforts are underway to ensure that the best medical care is provided to the injured, including requisition of air effort from the Air Force to shift the more serious casualties to Western Command.

Seven Indian Army soldiers were reported dead after a bus carrying 26 army personnel skidded off the road (to a depth of approx 50-60ft), and fell into a gorge near Shyok river in Ladakh.

Injured personnel have been taken to 403 Field Hospital at Partapur. Surgical teams from Leh have moved to Partapur to provide the necessary care. Dedicated efforts are underway to ensure that the best medical care is provided to the injured, including requisition of air effort from the Air Force to shift the more serious casualties to Western Command.

Seven of them succumbed to injuries, the officials said, adding many other personnel have also suffered grievous injuries and are undergoing treatment.

A party of 26 soldiers was moving from the Transit Camp in Partapur to a forward location in Sub Sector Hanif when the incident took place.
