Mysuru: Five days after actress
Chythra Hallikeri lodged a complaint accusing her husband, father-in-law and a bank manager of cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust, the bank has denied the allegation.
City police are investigating the case that the actress lodged on May 19.
She accused her husband and father-in-law of misusing her bank account to take a gold loan without her knowledge. She said a bank official was also involved in this matter.
However, the bank statement said that the gold loan availed by “one of our customers was overdue for closure. If the loan is not closed or renewed, the pledged gold ornaments would be auctioned for the realisation of the amount due to the bank.
Therefore, in order to prevent auctioning the pledged gold for recovery of dues, with the bonafide intention of giving more time to the borrower to repay the loan, the bank renewed the gold loan on getting part payment from one of the close family members of the borrower.”
