Kolkata: Two arrested with drugs and knife

KOLKATA: The Special Task Force of Kolkata Police arrested two persons from AJC Road opposite the Jora Girja under the Taltala police station and seized 17 grams of synthetic narcotics, known as Ecstasy, and a knife on Thursday.
The seizures are the highest in the city so far after the pandemic, according to the police.
The accused, Damien Martin (25), a resident of Park Street and Daneswar Jha (22), a resident of Chowbaga Road, were produced at a local court and taken into police custody, said joint VCP (STF) Solomon V Nesakumar, adding that cops would question the two to know why they were moving around with a knife. Sources said the drugs seized from the accused are sold for Rs 3,000-8,500 per gram.
