Mysuru: JD(S) state president CM Ibrahim on Thursday hit out at
Mysuru MP Prathap
Simha accusing him of trying to divide a wedge between the Muslim community and the Mysuru royals.
According to him, it was Mysuru royals who removed the system of parda for Muslim girls while travelling in horse carriage. It was Mysuru royal family which has protected the burial site of Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan. “Simha is a fool to pit Hindus against Muslims by referring to Mysuru royal family and Tipu,” he told reporters.
He said opposition leader Siddaramaiah’s mistakes helped Simha to become an MP. He questioned the Bommai government’s move to remove the title of ‘Mysuru Tiger’ assigned to Tipu. He asked whether former chief minister
BS Yediyurappa, who is called as a tiger, lived in forest?
He charged BJP of stealing netas produced by JD(S). “BJP does not have the power to produce leaders. Instead they steal our children and claim them as their own,” he said.
“To help the party, I’ll reach out to former minister GT Devegowda and MLC Marithibbegowda and hold discussion with them to remain with us,” he said.
Later, speaking at a JD(S) workers’ rally, the state unit chief said BJP will not come back to power and asserted that JD(S) top brass HD
Kumaraswamy will become the CM after the 2023 assembly polls. “I had said in 1996 that HD
Deve Gowda will become the CM, he did. In 2013 I had predicted that Siddaramaiah will become the CM. He did. Now I have said that it is Kumaraswamy’s turn in 2023. It will happen,” he said.
He said Siddaramaiah’s situation in Congress is like that of an adopted son. He attacked BJP government saying it has indulged in corruption.
