Gurugram: Break from heat spell likely for 5 more days, says IMD
The city is likely to get respite from the heat at least for five more days, according to the the India Meteorological Department (IMD).There was a slight dip in daytime temperature on Thursday even as the sky remained clear with ample sunshine. The maximum temperature settled at 33.8 degrees Celsius — eight notches below the normal. Similarly, the minimum temperature dropped to 22.5 degrees Celsius— four notches below the season’s normal. The Met has attributed the drop in temperature to high moisture content in the atmosphere which has kept the temperature under check.

Delhi: Woman stages fake abduction to get Rs 3 lakh from brother
Frustrated over financial crisis, a 38-year-old woman from south Delhi’s Mehrauli staged her abduction to get Rs 3 lakh from her brother. Delhi Police traced the woman from a hotel in Agra and arrested her on charges of extortion.Police said, at about 11 pm on Tuesday, her brother came to Mehrauli police station and informed the cops that his sister, who works at a BPO, was abducted and he was receiving extortion calls and messages from her number.
