Apple’s next big event starts on June 6: What Apple fans can expect to see

Apple has confirmed the lineup for its next big event -- Worldwide Developers Conference. The event kicks off on June 6 and will end on June 11. While WWDC is primarily a developers' conference, the highlight is the unveiling of new operating system updates for Apple devices. Apple will give a glimpse into what's coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS. There have been times when during WWDC, Apple has unveiled new products as well. WWDC starts on June 6 with a keynote address

The keynote is scheduled on June 6 (10.30 pm IST). During the keynote, Apple will talk about what's coming to iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch, Mac and other devices in terms of software upgrades.

iOS 16: New features for iPhones

iOS 16 is the next big upgrade for iPhone users. While the official roll out will happen later in the year -- September or October -- Apple will showcase the big features of iOS 16. So far, very little is known but it is expected that Apple will not bring a design overhaul. New features in Focus mode are expected along with a tweak in notifications.

watchOS 9: New faces, health features

Watch faces on the Apple Watch are expected to get a big update. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has said that Apple will redesign many of its existing Watch faces as well as bring new ones. Gurman, who has a good track record of Apple updates, has also said that watchOS 9 will be one of the biggest upgrades for the Watch in the last few years.

macOS 13: A 'mammoth' update

Apple has been naming the latest macOS updates after national parks in California -- Big Sur, Catalina and so on. It is rumoured that macOS 13 may be called Mammoth. In terms of features, with Apple's focus on its own silicon processors, we can see updates directed towards that. Universal Control is one feature that may get another upgrade with macOS 13.
