3,300 lottery tickets worth 1.3L seized

Coimbatore: The KG Chavadi police on Wednesday arrested two men and seized 3,300 lottery tickets worth 1.32 lakh from them. They brought the tickets from Kerala and were planning to hand them over to a local seller in the district.
Police identified the accused as Kanagaraj and Thiagarajan from Thanjavur district. Kanagaraj ran a lottery ticket store in Walayar in Kerala and Thiagarajan was his assistant.
The duo, who were on a two-wheeler, were intercepted by sub-inspector Saravanan and his team during a vehicle check at the Ettimadai RTO checkpost. “We were conducting the vehicle check based on a tip-off. We found the lottery tickets underneath the vehicle seat,” a police officer said.
Police, subsequently, arrested the two men. They were remanded in judicial custody.
