Netizens have called for the arrest of a religious preacher after he allegedly rebuffed a man, calling him “untouchable”. A video of the incident has been shared multiple times on social media.

In the video, the religious preacher, identified as Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, calls a man out of the crowd gathered to hear his address. When the man tries to touch the preacher's feet, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri leaned back, saying “Don’t touch me, you are untouchable”.

Netizens reacted strongly to the blatant discriminatory behaviour, calling for Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri to be booked. The hashtag #ArrestDhirendraShastri trended on Twitter.

A Twitter user asked if an FIR would be registered against the religious preacher over his behaviour.

Another social media user said that people with such a mindset belong in jail.

Another Twitter user condemned Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's behaviour and accused him of making other objectionable statements in the past.
