Ludhiana: A group of at least 15 miscreants created a ruckus in MIG Flats,
Dugri, Phase 1, on Sunday night. The accused pelted a house with stones, “opened fire in the air” and escaped after vandalising at least four vehicles of neighbours parked outside.
The police have lodged an FIR against Guri of CRPF Colony, Samby of Ishar Colony and their unidentified accomplices under sections 452 (house trespassing), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapons), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the IPC and the Arms Act.
Kirpal Singh, 30, a resident of Dugri, said in his police complaint, “On Sunday around 10.30pm, I was going to my sister’s house in MIG flats. When I was crossing by a private school in Dugri Phase-1, my bike collided with the car of the accused, but there was no damage. However, the accused started abusing me.”
Kirpal left the spot and reached his sister’s house. “Minutes later, the accused came there with their accomplices on three bikes and in a car. They started pelting my sister’s house with stones and abused me. When I did not come out of the house, they fired in the air. Thereafter, they vandalised the cars of the neighbours parked outside.”
After the accused escaped, the residents called the police.
Dugri SHO sub-inspector
Neeraj Chaudhary said, “Kirpal and the accused were earlier friends. Due to some issues, they parted ways and turned foes. Kirpal has some scuffle FIRs against him. As per the complainant and the residents, the accused had fired gunshots at the spot. But we have not found any bullet shell there. A case has been registered and the accused are being traced.”
