Three idols vandalised in Gr Noida temple: Cops

Noida: Three idols of deities were allegedly vandalised at a temple in Greater Noida’s Sector 37 on Monday morning. Police suspect a mentally challenged person threw a stone at the idols.
ADCP (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said as soon as the cops were alerted about the incident around 12.30pm by the locals, “a team rushed to the spot to ensure peace and harmony in the area”. “Prima facie, it is suspected that a mentally ill person threw stones at the idols in the temple.”
“It is an open temple with only a wire fencing around it. We have received a complaint in the matter from the residents welfare association of Sector 37 and an FIR is being filed. Teams have been deployed to nab the accused,” he said. Jai Singh Bhati, a resident of Sector 37, said, “A woman who lives near the temple informed us about the incident and we had alerted the cops. Currently, there is no priest in the temple.”
