Hemant inspects ‘Centre of Excellence’ at Dhurwa school

Ranchi: Chief minister Hemant Soren on Monday expressed confidence that the under-construction building on the Thakur Vishwanath Shahdeo High School premises under the state government’s ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoE) project at Jagannathpur Dhurwa would lay the foundation for better education system in the state. He was on a visit to the school premises to inspect the CoE building construction.
The government in 2021 had decided to upgrade 405 government schools under the project. Of these, the work of reconstruction of 80 schools has started in the first phase.
The CoE will have modern facilities to impart quality education to students with expert teachers, libraries, laboratories and computer labs at par with private schools.
Soren said no compromise would be allowed in the quality of building materials for the construction of required infrastructure. He warned the authorities concerned and others of strict action, if any quality-related complaints were filed.
The chief minister added that a multipurpose hall would be set up at the CoE. The present building and the under-construction building would be on one campus with common passage for easy movement. There would be adequate arrangements for indoor and outdoor games. The necessity for proper arrangement of water harvesting and plantation of trees on the premises were dwelt upon.
