Met dept says weather disturbance to continue today too

Ludhiana: With pouring rain, temperature dropped by many degrees on Monday in Ludhiana. The met department predicts weather disturbance today as well. It was windy on Sunday night and it rained as well during the night. On Monday morning as well, there were clouds and wind was blowing. According to the met department, the amount of rainfall in Ludhiana from 8.30am on Sunday to 8.30am on Monday was recorded at 18 millimetres. No rainfall recorded between 8.30am and 5.30pm in Ludhiana. The impact of rainfall and winds was witnessed on temperatures in city as the maximum (day) temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 31.2 degrees celsius which is 8.1 degrees less than normal. A day before the day temperature in Ludhiana was witnessed at 40.4 degrees Celsius which was 1.1 degrees more than normal. Meanwhile, the minimum (night) temperature in city on Monday was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius, which was 6 degrees less than normal and 5.6 degrees less than a day before. Met department officials said the weather forecast for Tuesday is, “Partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers” whereas on Wednesday and Thursday it is expected to be partly cloudy sky. They added that day and night temperatures are expected to rise during these days. Met department website suggests that day temperature is expected to be 38 degrees on Tuesday and then rise to 42 degrees by Sunday whereas night temperature may rise to 26 degrees by Saturday. Meanwhile, residents enjoyed the pleasant change in the weather. “It had been very hot recently, but weather took a pleasant turn since last night even though it was quite windy. On Monday morning, there was a time when I felt cold so had to switch off even fan. Also, unlike recent days, I could go for a walk during the day as weather was pleasant,” said Vivek Kumar, a businessman from Dugri area. tnn
