Karnataka BJP announces candidates for MLC polls

Former deputy CM Laxman Savadi is among the party candidates for the Karnataka MLC polls.
BENGALURU: BJP on Tuesday announced its candidates for the biennial elections for a legislative Council on June 3.
Former deputy CM Laxman Savadi, secretary of the BJP state unit - Hemalatha Nayak, president of BJP SC Morcha - Chalavadi Narayaswamy and S Keshavaprasad have made it to the list. The party has also announced Basavaraj Horatti as it's nominee for Karnataka west teachers constituency.
Horatti, who was the legislative council chairman, had recently quit JDS and joined BJP.
The BJP can win four of the seven seats of the legislative council for which MLAs will elect the members.
The BJP did not consider former CM BS Yediyurappa's son BY Vijayendra though the party has recommended his name under pressure from the BJP veteran.
