HUBBALLI: At least eight people were killed and 24 injured in a road accident at
Tarihal bypass here on Tuesday wee hours.
The mishap occurred when a lorry loaded with rice collided with a private bus travelling from Kolhapur to Bengaluru. It's said that the bus collided with a tractor too before colliding with the lorry. The deceased include driver Ataulla and cleaner Nagaraj. Two other deceased have been identified as Mohammed from Mysuru and Babusab from Chikodi. Injured persons have been admitted to
KIMS Hospital in Hubballi.
Police rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic be early morning. Police commissioner Labhu Ram visited the KIMS Hospital and consoled the injured passengers.
