Noida: A scheme to attract companies for the state’s first Medical Device Park was launched on Monday. The park will come up on 350 acres in Sector 28 of the
Yamuna Authority, in close proximity to the upcoming Noida international airport and the proposed
Film City. It is expected to offer direct and indirect job opportunities to about 70,000 people.
Under the scheme, a total of 136 industrial plots would be offered at the rate of Rs 6,670 per sqm. In the first phase, however, 85 plots would be developed on 110 acres. While there would be 60 plots of 1,000 sqm each, 20 plots will have an area of 2,100 sqm each and five of 4,000 sqm each.
Companies and entrepreneurs can apply for a plot till June 22. Allotments would be done through a draw of lots on July 7.
Both the Centre and state governments would offer incentives for the scheme. The scheme aims at encouraging manufacture of devices for cancer care, radiotherapy, radiology and imaging, anaesthetics and cardio-respiratory care, among others.
Officials said civic work related to the park, such as roads and drainage, were in progress.
The investors, officials said, would be provided with common infrastructural facilities like a central warehouse, a skill development and incubation centre, a convention-cum-exhibition centre, among others.
A food court, bank, recreational area, gyms, public utilities, waste management facilities, a power sub-station with backup, a green belt and bus stops will also be developed.
“Following the severe shortage of medical equipment during the pandemic, a decision was taken by the state government to develop a medical device park. The Centre gave us permission to set it up here,” said
Arun Vir Singh, the Yamuna Authority CEO.
The Yamuna Authority, meanwhile, launched a scheme of industrial plots in sectors 32 and 33 on Monday.
Officials said six industrial plots — over 4,000sqm — off the Yamuna Expressway were allotted earlier and they were cancelled on the government’s directives.
The scheme to allot these plots afresh would be done through e-auction on June 23.
